Every space starts with a plan. We take this task seriously because this space should grow and mature with you. So we work with the client to create comprehensive landscape drawings, work through a budgeting and/or phasing plan, and install the landscape according to plan.
Creating the Plan
We meet with you to talk about your aspirations. What features are you looking for, what is unique about your space, and how can we bring more value to your lifestyle and property. At this point in the process you’ll discover ideas, view concepts, see and feel materials, plants, and accessories that will come together to bring the plan to a reality.
With our comprehensive plan we take budget into account and produce not only a master plan but phases. These phases allow you to focus on creating the space over several seasons, allowing hardscape to settle into place, plantings to mature, and budgets to not be broken.
Once we are given the okay to proceed, we will begin creating the drawings. Depending on the degree of difficulty, this may be a quick process, or a little more time consuming. Some projects are pretty simple to design and budget, but some projects need to go from concept, to engineering, to budgeting, and then back again until we get the design and budget to agree.
The Cost of Design
A complete landscape is only as good as the design, the best installation in the world cannot overcome a design that lacks creativity, intelligence, and functionality. If you do not start with a well thought out, creative design, you won’t get a landscape that looks like it. Cutting corners on the design and planning phase of any landscape will cost money, time, quality, and satisfaction.
If you have a complete design we can estimate based on this. We’ll need to do a site survey to establish drainage, soil makeup, and topography to establish any hardscape and drainage complications. After the survey is complete we can estimate install including footings and structural elements, plants, ground covers and irrigation.
Upon approval of design and estimate our install crew will get to work. They will handle any demo work that may need to be performed and then proceed to preparation of the space. This time is one of the most stressful for homeowners, the area will be in a construction phase. This prep work is vital to your outdoor spaces longevity. During this phase we ask homeowners to be available for questions but to allow our crew to work. This will allow us to get from prep to final install quickly and get to a point where you can enjoy your new space.
