About Horses Horses Landscaping Inc. and Garden Center is a family owned and operated business. We are located in Northwest Indiana. Horses was estabilshed by George Stiscak Jr in 1980 as a landscape contractor and maintenance company based out of lake county . In the early 1990’s Horses moved its operations to Valparaiso and began to expand its services. As horses continued to grow and the demnad for landscape services in porter county continued to grow, George decided that in order to keep up with demand and to gain more clients horses needed a place for customers to be able to see the work we do first hand or get any questions about the services we offer answered in person seven days a week. In the spring of 1999 the Garden Center opened carrying only a few bulk materials and a small selection of plants and garden accesories and only utilizing about 2 of the 5 acres the property had to offer. Soon after the opening of the garden center Georges wife Erica whose passion for plants and the love of art impelled her to take the Master Gardeners class. Upon completion of the course and already having her MBA in creative arts she developed Horses design department and the many unique services it offers! © Horses Landscape Inc. & Garden Center 2011
